Quilts/Lap Robes for the Temple VA Hospital at Christmas
On Wednesday, August 15, Hooked On Threads, a Marble Falls needlework group spearheading the project, and local sewing groups attended a meeting with the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 6974 in Burnet. They discussed the details of the distribution of quilts and lap robes for the military at the VA Hospital in Temple at Christmas. This project will make a great impact on the patients’ lives for years to come.
The participants had an opportunity to meet with Bobby Zimmerman, Volunteer Director for the Olin E. Teague Veterans’ Medical Center, Temple at the Burnet VFW. Mr. Zimmerman is the individual making it possible for the project participants to personally hand out the gifts. He is very excited about the scope of this project. The distribution date will be December 14th at 11 am in Temple for all those who would like to be there in person. More details are forthcoming. The participants can’t wait to see the patient’s faces!
